Liberalism and the Global Economy

Bretton Woods at 80 Years
Oct 29 - Nov 1, 2023 Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, USA
Welcome
It is our pleasure to welcome you to Bretton Woods, New Hampshire and the historic Mount Washington Resort. As we approach the 80th anniversary of the Bretton Woods Conference we will gather to examine the state of the international economic system that emerged in its wake. In addition to formalizing an international exchange rate system for the post-war world that ultimately displaced the gold standard, this event led to the creation of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, and set into motion the proceedings that produced the General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs in 1947.
Accordingly, the main theme of this meeting is “Liberalism and the Global Economy: Bretton Woods at 80 Years”
2023 also marks the 90th anniversary of the American Institute for Economic Research. We expect the rich history of AIER, the Mont Pelerin Society, and the Mount Washington Resort will converge to create an important and exciting conference.
On behalf of the Program Committee and Organizing Committee we look forward to seeing you in Bretton Woods on October 29 – November 1, 2023.

The Mount Washington Resort
Site of the 1944 Bretton Woods International Monetary Conference and host to dozens of political, business and artistic gatherings, the historic Omni Mount Washington Resort has redefined itself as a leading location for meeting and convention groups. In January 2009, Omni Mount Washington Resort opened the Presidential Wing, bringing the resort’s total dedicated meeting space to 30,000 square feet and one of the largest meeting spaces in Northern New Hampshire, as well as a 25,000-square-foot spa and salon.
As grand as the history behind it, Omni Mount Washington Resort is gracious in ambiance and generous in amenities. A favorite New England retreat of presidents, poets and celebrities, our hotel delights every sense with award-winning dining, splendid décor and endless recreational pursuits. With a classic Donald Ross-designed golf course, signature spa, casual dining facilities, nine high-flying zip lines, and New Hampshire's largest ski area.
Hotel rooms starting at $259/night plus resort fee and taxes.
You may book your room with our special room rate via < this link > or by clicking the “HOTEL RESERVATIONS” button below.
We expect to completely fill the Mount Washington Resort. Due to its remoteness, alternate hotel choices are very limited. We strongly encourage attendees to book their hotel rooms immediately.
Note: The conference opens with a cocktail reception on October 29 and concludes after dinner on November 1. Depending on availability, you may extend your stay within our room block; however, additional weekend nights may be subject to a $100/night surcharge.
